Rustic Middle-Eastern Copper Plated Tin Pot with Handle

Very rustic/primitive copper plated tin pot with handle, most likely middle-eastern in origin. Measures approx 4-1/2" tall by 4-1/4" wide. The handle appears to be brass-plated tin, with snake head ends, and is marked with the symbols "* 8 *". I believe it was last used as a flower pot!

Condition - best described as rustic, with substantial wear as shown in the pics. There are a couple of small dark-orange paint spatters on the outside. The inside has been cleaned but exhibits oxidation/discolouration/staining.
