This beautiful late Victorian-era green pressed glass finger oil lamp was produced by Dalzell, Gilmore and Leighton (Findlay, Ohio) which operated from 1885-1898. It measures approx 8" to the top of the burner (15" to the top of the chimney) and 4-1/2" at it's widest. It features a cable pattern on the font (or reservoir), and fishscale pattern below. The base features a hexagonal shape and a finger loop/handle for carrying the lamp. The chimney is a historically accurate pie-crust design, which I am assuming is a reproduction. This lamp features what looks like an Ebling shrunk-on clinched collar patented by Phillip Ebling of Dalzell, Gilmore and Leighton, first used in May 1894. This particular collar seems to be made from two pieces with visible soldering; possibly indicating that it was repaired/adapted many years ago (see pic #6). It has a screw-in prong burner, which works well to raise/lower the wick. Attribution note - attributed to Dalzell, Gilmore and Leighton (Findlay, Ohio) based on an identical design seen on page 252 of the book "Oil lamps : the kerosene era in North America" by Thuro, Catherine M. V. which is freely available as a digital library book from archive.org.

Condition - (1) the glass lamp is in very good condition. It does however exhibit roughness around the inside edge of the base including a very small/shallow chip (see pic #10). (2) the clinch collar is in good working condition though tarnished (see pic #6), and soldering may indicate a vintage repair. Upon inspection there is a slight dent to the rim of the collar, and the threading also looks slightly damaged. The burner however screws in perfectly/firmly in the collar. (3) The burner looks in very good condition. (4) the chimney looks to be in excellent condition.
