Japan Hand-painted Majolica Lidded Pitcher/Jug With Florals and Birds

This gorgeous Japanese hand-painted majolica lidded pitcher/jug measures approx 8" tall (including lid) x 4-1/2" wide (not including handle). It features a colourful floral relief pattern with 2 birds on a light blue background. The base reads "Made in Japan". We do know this piece was brought back from Japan about 30 years ago, thus most likely a tourist piece.

Condition - very good condition with no chips or cracks. The base exhibits some wear, and the "Made in Japan" marking is mostly gone.
