This beautiful, hard-to-find cherub pattern barrel tea set was produced by James Sadler of England in the 1940s. It includes a lidded teapot, lidded sugar, and open creamer. Each piece is beige with a gold floral pattern, and gold trim and ornamentation. It features a delightful cherub scene with 2 Grecian ladies in blue and pink on front and back. The bottom of each piece is printed "Sadler Made in England" with additional handwritten numbers and letters. An iconic looking James Sadler tea set, that would fit right at home as a table setting or in your display cabinet!
Lidded Teapot - measures approx 5" tall (not including top knob), 9-3/4" wide, and 3-3/4" deep Lidded Sugar - measures approx 3-3/4" tall (not including top knob), 6-3/4" wide, and 3-1/4" deep Creamer - measures 3-3/4" tall, 6" wide, and 2-3/4" deep
Condition - the set is in good condition, with no chips or cracks. The set does exhibit moderate crazing, with various wear in places. I have tried to show some examples of these things in the pics. There is also a tiny fleabite on the underside of the teapot's lid (see pic #9). All in all, this set does show nicely and I don't think you will be disappointed. Additional pics on request.
